Build Group Blocks by Room Number per date "High Priority"

Our property builds group blocks by room number (not room type) and we need to be able to allow guests to reserve for shorter length of stay than the dates that are blocked within the group. We really need a solution to this issue. In Webrez (prior reservation program), we could build by block type and/or room number yet the calendar always had the group block just like RM when view by room number. Our front desk clerks never even knew whether a group was built by room number or room type (as that is how it should be). If someone did reserve outside the group block, we were able to add their reservation number to the group block. This would at least allow us to email an accurate rooming list as the outside reservation would then appear like it was within the block.

We book a lot of weddings, therefore, we build a lot of 2-night stay groups and different guests such as the photographer would only like to stay for 1-night. As the program is right now for this to happen we are having to do the following:

1) Front Desk Clerk makes the reservation for a 2-night stay or number of nights in block

2) A note is given to the sales department with their confirmation number, name, and the date(s) they really want to stay.

3) Sales department has to remove the room number from the block

4) Make the changes to the reservation

5) The guest is no longer included in the group block or rooming list

6) Now when we email a rooming list it no longer includes everyone

Solutions:

1) Be able to build a group block by room number and date would be ideal (just like by room type)

And/Or

2) If we could have the ability to add a confirmation number from a reservation to an existing group block (at least we would be able to email accurate rooming lists)
