Approval Authorizations should never automatically and /or arbitrarily drop off

We obtain a security/damage deposit at check in. We want to authorize this amount instead of processing a payment then release the authorized amount at will. We experience a high rate of damages by our guests. Our merchant fees are off the charts having to process this as a payment. Please make the authorized amount static without fear of it dropping off by: extending the check out date, adding another payment for extending the check out date or being released based on a time limit.
