Duplication Observation: RoomMaster 18 automatically transfers the payment card details from the original reservation to the duplicated booking if there is a credit card on file. RoomMaster 18 lacks the functionality to erase a previously input card, thereby increasing the likelihood of the original card being utilized instead of the new one. For example, a customer reserves many rooms through an Online Travel Agency (OTA), but the OTA has utilized distinct virtual cards to make payments for each individual reservation. The duplicate reservation option is the optimal method for making numerous bookings for reservations with the same date and/or guest profile, unless different credit cards are being utilized.
Recommendation: While duplicating the booking, implement a pop-up query that prompts the user to specify whether they wish to retain the same credit card details as the original booking or not.
Alternatively, offer the user the choice to eliminate unwanted credit cards from any booking or folio at a later point. In the event that the credit card information is modified or inputted improperly, we aim to avoid any inadvertent charges to the wrong card during the checkout process.
This is also an issue in the guest profile. Once you set up a card in the profile, there is no way to erase it. If the guest chooses to pay with a different method, the card remains attached to the profile and could be processed in error.
